The Reading Group

The phrase Reading Group may sound unfamiliar in Asia but is a popular past time in Britain. It is a collective of people who meet to
discuss books they have read and then exchange opinions on the similar book. The group tend to meet in libraries and cafes occasionally over meals or drinks.

Siaopo has been enthusiastically attending the Newcastle City Centre group for more than a year. Meeting at Starbucks Neville Street on every first Wednesday of each month at 6pm, she has found the gathering a good fun!

Not only able to wind down after a long
day of work with her favorite Starbucks Frappuccino, she has found the group an ideal way to make new friends ! Together they enjoy various styles of fictitious books which include love, romance, crime, detective and etc.

Last Month's (March) group selection - 1) Ratcatcher by James McGee and 2) The post birthday world by Lionel Shriver

Siaopo's comment on the books :-
1) Ratcather by J.McGhee - It was a hardwork reading the book. A book more for the boys ! Rating Scale by Siaopo - 3/10 .

2) Post Birthday World by L.Shriver - A spot-on love novel about dillemma of love - confuse over which man to choose ! Rating Scale by Siaopo - 6/10

This month's (April )'s group selection - The Three Evangelist by Fred Vargas.
No comment on this book yet as Siaopo hasn't even started the first page . What a Lazy Woman!! (double sigh)

For those who reside in Newcastle and interested to be part of Reading Group, check out the Newcastle City Library for further information.
